"We then held the reconstituted TREK1 protein concentration constant and altered the phospholipid composition of the proteoliposomes, demonstrating that the anionic lipid 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl PA (POPA) causes a dose-dependent increase in TREK1 activity while the zwitterionic lipid 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl PE (POPE) inhibits TREK1 function (Fig. 2a–c)."
