"Soon afterwards, their data demonstrated that neurotransmitter dopamine (DA) could also inhibit NLRP3 inflammasome activation through dopamine D1 receptor (DRD1), suggesting DRD1 signaling could negatively regulate NLRP3 inflammasome via a second messenger cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), which binds to NLRP3 and promotes its ubiquitination and degradation."
