"Because Kv1.3 has been well studied and is known to be a substrate for Tyr phosphorylation by several neuromodulators of MC AP firing frequency (Fadool & Levitan, xref ; Fadool et al . xref ; Tucker & Fadool, xref ; Colley et al . xref ; Fadool et al . xref ; Mast & Fadool, xref ), it would be intriguing to explore whether GLP‐1 stimulation of the OB can phosphorylate Kv1.3 on either Ser or Thr residues or use a cAMP independent mechanism to phosphorylate Kv1.3 on Tyr residues linked to MAPK activation (Egan et al . xref )."
