"STAMBP is a JAMM family deubiquitinating enzyme that regulates the stability of substrate proteins in cells by cleaving the ubiquitin portion of the molecule; proteomics and other research techniques have shown that STAMBP appears to exhibit high expression in various diseases as an inflammatory biomarker, including breast cancer, ischemic stroke, and autism.45–47 However, the expression of STAMBP in diabetic retinopathy has not yet been reported.Long-term mild inflammation has been found to have a significant negative impact on the pathogenesis of diabetic neuropathy."
