"Our findings delineate a novel mechanism, based on the hERG1–β1 integrin interaction, whose dynamics shows biphasic behavior: (1) integrin engagement stimulates hERG1 channel translocation to the plasma membrane, which increases I hERG1 amplitude and causes V rest hyperpolarization; (2) hERG1 assembles with the integrin and remains in the plasma membrane (i.e., is not degraded) in the closed conformation, which progressively restores the initial V rest ."
