"The amount of squalene declined significantly (p = 0.00613) as the accumulation of 2,3-oxidosqualene increased by 4.7-fold (p = 0.00507), which may reflect the absence of ERG9 and ERG1 repression by ergosterol, as well as the enhanced induction of ERG1 due to the lower levels of lanosterol (Table 1) (M’Baya et al. 1989)."
