"We observed that activation of striatal hM 4 Di with CNO (2mg/kg, i.p.) before a cocaine challenge (15mg/kg, i.p.) significantly inhibited c-Fos activation in animals expressing hM 4 Di versus GFP controls (control were also administered CNO before cocaine challenge) [Figures XREF_FIG C, D; t (13) = 2.78, p < 0.02], suggesting that activation of hM 4 Di via CNO before cocaine challenge inhibited cAMP pathway activity by G i/o -coupled inhibition."
