Gamma1 activates KCNMA1. 2 / 2
| 2

reach
"Although both gamma1 and gamma2 modulate the BK channel very effectively, the gamma2 and gamma1-TM chimera, which resulted from gamma1 's TM segment being in the presence of gamma2 's LRRD and C-tail, was ineffective (i.e., the resultant V 1/2 is within 15 mV of that produced by BKalpha alone) in modulating BK channel voltage gating (V 1/2 = 155 +/- 4 mV) (XREF_FIG), suggesting that incompatibility exists between the gamma1 TM segment and either the gamma2 LRRD or the gamma2 C-tail."

reach
"Therefore, the physical association or interaction between the BKgamma TM segments and BKalpha may be a main mechanism by which the gamma1 and gamma2 subunits modulate BK channel voltage dependent gating."
