"OTU2 has been previously linked to DNA damage response due to an increase in its protein level upon MMS-induced DNA damage. xref In another study, knockout of OTU2 in yeast cells led to an increased expression of a number of DNA repair proteins. xref In addition, a negative genetic interaction between OTU2 and RAD30, which encodes the translesion DNA synthesis (TLS) polymerase η in yeast, was also reported. xref Our result suggested a potential connection of OTU2 to DNA damage response, particularly PCNA deubiquitination."
