"Notably, the isogenic mutant of slo (3348Deltaslo) was strongly impaired in its ability to induce CysLTs production, and the knock-in of a double mutated version of the slo gene (3348slodm), lacking toxicity and with severely reduced cell binding capacity XREF_BIBR, failed to restore SLO activity, suggesting the involvement of the two mutated sites in the SLO binding to human TMC and to the TLR4 receptor (XREF_FIG panel f)."
